NUST CGPA Calculator
Once you're enrolled, NUST tracks your progress with a semester and cumulative GPA, not an admission aggregate. Here's how that system works and how it differs from the aggregate you calculated to get in.
Aggregate vs CGPA two different numbers
Your NUST aggregate is a one time admission score built from Matric, FSc and NET (or IBCC equivalence and NET). It stops mattering the moment you're enrolled. Your CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is a completely separate, ongoing measure of your academic performance across every semester of your degree, calculated on NUST's standard 4.0 grade point scale.
How semester GPA rolls into CGPA
Each semester, every course you take earns a letter grade converted to grade points (typically A = 4.0 down to F = 0.0), weighted by that course's credit hours. Your semester GPA is the credit weighted average for that semester alone. Your CGPA is the same calculation applied across every credit hour you've taken since your first semester, so a single bad semester has less impact on your CGPA the further you progress through your degree.
Formula: GPA = (sum of grade points × credit hours) ÷ total credit hours for the semester in question; CGPA uses the same formula across all completed semesters combined.
Why this matters after admission
Your CGPA determines eligibility for the Dean's List, scholarship renewal, probation status, and eventually your final transcript classification. It has no connection to the aggregate formula on this site don't confuse the two when talking to advisors or checking your standing.
