NUST Admission Eligibility Criteria
Before your aggregate matters at all, you need to clear NUST's baseline eligibility requirements. Here's what those are for 2026 applicants.
Minimum marks requirement
Applicants generally need at least 60% marks in both Matric/SSC and FSc/HSSC (or the equivalent IBCC percentage for O Level/A Level candidates) to be eligible to apply to any NUST undergraduate programme. This is a floor, not a competitive benchmark clearing 60% makes you eligible to apply, it does not mean you're competitive for a specific programme's merit list.
Subject requirements by stream
Beyond the overall percentage floor, specific programmes require the right subject combination at FSc/A Level: Engineering and Computing programmes generally require Mathematics and Physics, Applied Biosciences typically requires Biology, and Architecture applicants often need to demonstrate design aptitude alongside Mathematics. Under PEC 2023 rules, ICS (Maths/Physics/Computer Science) students can also pursue Engineering disciplines with remedial Chemistry to be completed after enrolment.
A valid NET attempt
You must sit and pass a NET session within the current admission cycle for your programme; NUST does not currently accept SAT, ECAT or other external test scores as a substitute for its own entry test in most programmes. See the full NET guide for scheduling and format.
