NUST Merit List Guide
NUST releases admission offers in rounds, not a single list. Here's how the process typically unfolds once aggregates are finalised.
How merit lists work
Once NET results and board results are in, NUST ranks every applicant to a given programme and campus by aggregate, highest to lowest, and releases offers down that list until seats fill. Because not every offered candidate confirms their seat some accept offers elsewhere or at a different NUST programme the university typically runs multiple merit list rounds, moving down the ranked list to fill vacated seats.
What determines your position
Your position is purely a function of your aggregate relative to every other applicant for that specific programme campus combination, not a fixed national ranking. The same aggregate can place you comfortably within merit for one programme and well outside it for a more competitive one see closing merit by programme for how this has historically played out.
What to do while waiting
Keep an eye on the official admissions portal for each list release, and have a backup ranking of programmes/campuses in order of preference ready, since later rounds may only offer seats in less competitive options as higher demand programmes fill in earlier rounds.
