NUST NET Syllabus by Subject
NET draws its questions from the FBISE HSSC Part I and Part II curriculum. Here's the subject by subject breakdown for the Engineering & Computing stream, the most common NET path.
Mathematics (50% of the Engineering & Computing paper)
Covers number systems, functions and graphs, matrices and determinants, quadratic equations, sequences and series, permutations and combinations, trigonometric identities and applications, analytic geometry, vectors, differentiation and integration essentially the full FSc Part I and Part II mathematics curriculum.
Physics (30%)
Measurements and units, vectors, kinematics and dynamics, work and energy, rotational motion, electrostatics, current electricity, electromagnetism, and modern physics topics drawn from the standard HSSC physics syllabus.
English (20%)
Built on an SAT style reasoning and comprehension format rather than rote grammar: reading comprehension, vocabulary in context, sentence correction, and logical/verbal reasoning.
