How is the NUST aggregate calculated?

NUST combines three weighted percentages: Matric (10%), FSc Part 1 (15%), and your NUST Entry Test score (75%). A Level and O Level candidates use a single IBCC equivalence percentage at 25% instead of the Matric+FSc split, combined with the same 75% NET weight.

What is the minimum aggregate required for NUST?

There's no single fixed cut off the required aggregate varies by programme and campus each year based on how many seats are available and how competitive that year's applicant pool is. Popular programmes like Computer Science at SEECS typically close at a much higher aggregate than less competitive disciplines. Check the previous year's closing merit for your target programme as a rough guide, and always confirm the current cycle's official merit lists.

Is FSc Part 2 included in the NUST aggregate?

No. NUST's undergraduate aggregate formula uses FSc Part 1 marks only. This lets students apply and receive a provisional aggregate before their Part 2 result is announced.

What is the minimum eligibility criteria for NUST admission?

Applicants generally need at least 60% marks in both Matric/SSC and FSc/HSSC (or the equivalent IBCC percentage for O Level/A Level students) to be eligible to apply. Specific programmes may set additional subject requirements.

Which NET score should I use if I attempted more than once?

NUST automatically considers your best score across all NET sessions you sat (NET 1 through NET 4) for aggregate calculation, so use your highest score when calculating.

Does NUST have a separate merit list for each campus?

Yes. NUST runs merit lists per programme and campus (Islamabad, and constituent campuses such as SEECS, SMME, SCEE, NBS and others), so your aggregate can put you in range for one campus or programme while missing the cut off for a more competitive one.

Is this different from a NUST CGPA calculator?

Yes this tool calculates your admission aggregate before you join NUST. A CGPA calculator is a separate tool used once you're already enrolled, to track your semester grade point average during your degree.

Can O Level students without a completed A Level use this calculator?

Yes, if you have a predicted or partial IBCC equivalence figure you can use that percentage as an estimate, but your official aggregate will be recalculated once your final equivalence certificate is issued.

Does a higher NET score always outweigh a lower FSc percentage?

Almost always, because NET is weighted at 75% versus a combined 25% for Matric and FSc. A strong NET score can compensate significantly for an average board result, though the 60% minimum eligibility threshold still applies regardless of NET score.
